How to Import into the US

This postion is located in Otay Mesa, Sand Diego, CA.

This position will support the Manager of Customs & Int'l Trade Compliance with US Customs and other government agency compliance requirements, trade analyses, and development of internal controls and automated systems.

These are the general duties:
• Ensure Compliance with US and Foreign government customs regulations
• Support ST Import/Export Compliance goal with development of an automated system to manage documentation and data required.
• Interfaces with product development, sourcing, manufacturing, finance, and suppliers to determine and/or validate classification, valuation, country of origin, and marking requirements.
• Researches customs regulations and rulings, determines regulatory or interpretive basis for classification, marking, and valuation decisions, and communicates with internal clients and external customs brokers.
What makes you a qualified applicant?

• You must have a Bachelor's degree with 2 or more years of increasingly responsible trade and customs experience.
• Complete working knowledge of all US Customs compliance rules and regulations.
• Working knowledge of NAFTA rules of origin, NAFTA certification requirements, etc.
• Customs Broker's License preferred.
• Working experience with Microsoft suite and Oracle preferred.
• Working experience with Mexico and Maquiladoras preferred.
• Bi-Lingual – English/Spanish preferred.
